The Miami Beach Convention Center (MBCC, a Spectra-managed venue) is proud to announce Sabrina Anico as the new Director of Marketing and External Relations for the $620-million dollar, newly renovated, expanded and re-imagined venue.

Ms. Anico enjoys more than 20 years of venue management experience specializing in marketing, brand development, communications and sales for new construction, public venue projects. Her venue roster includes the Faena Forum at the multi-billion dollar Faena District in Miami Beach, the New World Center designed by star-architect Frank Gehry, the Lincoln Theater on vibrant Lincoln Road, the Mahaffey Theater at the Progress Energy Center in St. Petersburg, FL, the Jackie Gleason Theater (now a Live Nation Fillmore venue), and the historical Coconut Grove Playhouse in Coconut Grove, FL. She has provided marketing, promotions, communications and venue booking support for for-profit entities such as SMG, Faena Hotels, and now Spectra Venue Management, as well as private non-profits such as the New World Symphony.

“Sabrina’s extensive experience in a variety of unique venues, combined with her fantastic professional career, are all wonderful assets for the MBCC and all of our key stakeholder communities,” said Freddie Peterson, General Manager of the MBCC. “As we continue to build upon our collective successes with our clients and MBCC teams, it’s vitally important that we also continue to cultivate our external partnerships, which are critical to the sustained growth of this first-class venue in a world-class destination.”

Ms. Anico was honored with a BizBash Reader’s Choice Awards for Venue Manager of the Year in 2012, and volunteers as a grant panelist for the Miami Dade County Cultural Affairs Department. Unaffiliated with her marketing experience, Ms. Anico enjoys an Earned Agent license from the Internal Revenue Service and has participated in the Wyncode Academy Full Stack Web Development Program.

“I am privileged to be a part of the Miami Beach Convention Center,” said Ms. Anico. “As a resident of Miami Beach and having worked in the City Center District for many years, this role at the MBCC sparks my passion for creating connections and serving my community.”

The Director of Marketing and External Relations at the MBCC is responsible for strategic leadership in developing digital and traditional marketing campaigns, communications, and maintaining external relations to promote the MBCC in the community and venue industry.
