The Miami Beach Convention Center served as the site where Cassius Clay (Muhammad Ali) defeated Sonny Liston for his first Heavyweight Championship of the World in 1964.

The MBCC hosted the Republican National Convention and more than 20,000 delegates in 1968.

In 1971, the MBCC hosted more than 45,000 delegates for both the Republican and Democratic National Conventions.


Currently undergoing a $615 million renovation and expansion set for completion in 2018.

Renovated facility will be complete in 2018, but it is open for business now.

The renovated building will be LEED Silver certified.

Onsite parking will be available on the roof of the facility in mid-2018.
