Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau (GMCVB) Secures the Convening Leaders Global Events Industry Conference in 2027

The Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA), the largest community of business events strategists, will meet at the Miami Beach Convention Center, Jan. 10-13, 2027

(MIAMI, FL) May 30, 2023 ─ The GMCVB continues its drumbeat of securing major meetings and conventions to the reimagined $640 million Miami Beach Convention Center (MBCC) as bureau and PCMA representatives recently shared news that an agreement was reached to bring hundreds of participants and key decision makers  for PCMA’s Convening Leaders event to Greater Miami and Miami Beach, Jan. 10 – 13, 2027.

The GMCVB’s State of the Tourism & Travel Industry event provided the platform for PCMA leadership to reveal that 2027 will mark the return of its annual flagship education and networking event to Greater Miami and Miami Beach after more than two decades. “PCMA and its affiliated members define leadership in the meetings, conventions and trade show universe and it’s encouraging to see this type of continued investment in our tourism economy,” said David Whitaker, president and CEO of the GMCVB.

The collaborative outreach efforts of the MBCC, OVG360 and the GMCVB were among the key factors that contributed to PCMA reaching an agreement to select Greater Miami and Miami Beach to accommodate this major event as all three organizations worked to build strong relationships with PCMA clientele providing distinctive meeting industry experiences at the MBCC as well as at other local venues.

“Hosting PCMA Convening Leaders at an OVG360 venue is the perfect extension of our partnership with PCMA,” said Greg O'Dell, president of Venue Management, OVG360 and a past chairman of PCMA. “This global event will showcase the unrivaled capabilities of the Miami Beach Convention Center for business events leaders from around the world. We are grateful for our partnership with the City of Miami Beach and the GMCVB and look forward to leveraging our collective expertise to provide a space for connection and collaboration and create an exceptional conference.”

“Being a world-class meetings destination with the best-in-class team, we could not be prouder to welcome PCMA Convening Leaders, the premier global business events industry’s convention,” said OVG360’s Freddie Peterson, general manager of the MBCC. “We are extremely excited to be the host with the most as we deliver a memorable experience at our reimagined venue and its beautiful campus.”

The location of the MBCC, steps away from stunning beaches, world-class resort properties, magnificent golf courses and other amenities creates an unparalleled meeting ambiance. Its locale, coupled with Miami Beach’s wholehearted embrace of arts and culture reflected in displays at the convention center campus and throughout the city including its museums, events and public spaces, sets the venue apart from other meeting sites in North America.

“Our city continues to be at the epicenter where events, accommodations and cuisine align to attract discerning business, convention and leisure travelers,” said Miami Beach City Commissioner Alex J. Fernandez. “We welcome PCMA delegates and look forward to the collaborative, innovative energy they’ll experience at the convention center as well as all the opportunities to enjoy everything Miami Beach has to offer.”
